Target was a railroad bridge located at La Pontes. 12 aircraft, 500 lb bombs with a total drop of 48 tons. Results of this raid were excellent. Note the new engine on the port side, which was replaced after the devastating mission 9 when we returned flying on one engine and spattered with some 104 flak holes in the fuselage. This just proved that our B-26 could take a lot of combat punishment. This is the original plane that we flew from Battle Creek, MI in Jan 1944. |
