1953-07~ 07 Dan, Pete Sr & Pete Jr; backyard day |
Pete Jr: Dad's army pup tent consisted of two canvas shelter halves, joined at the top. Each soldier would carry half. Never touch a canvas tent with a fingfer in the rain: drips will form there. Dad used these as drop cloths and as tarps to gather raked leaves and haul them away for composting or burning in the street. We would wrap potatoes in foil and roast them under the leaves - they tasted great after raking. |
