Pete Jr: This is the only good image that we have of Mom's green Plymouth coupe. I place it as a 1947 model that they probably bought around July, 1952 -- almost three years in Needham, without a car.
This car features small side windows for the rear seat (many illustrated for 1949 have none), but a smallish rear window. If you look closely, you'll see the seam: the windshield consists of two flat panels with a seam down the middle. There may or may not be vent windows in front. Research shows that the exteriors of the 1946-1948 models were basically pre-war, as they rushed to get cars out. 1949 had some new exteriors. . Without seat belts or even a latch for the seat back, and Mom not being smooth with clutch and brake, she used to swing her arm out to keep the one of us behind the passenger seat from flying into the front. She often smacked Dad in the chest, when he was there.
