Pete Jr - as I recall the story: Joan Caryl and her husband Warren were artists. She was the one with the money, and she sent him to Germany to study. While he was gone, she painted the mural for him. He met someone else over there, and never came back. . An artist named Joan Leonard Caryl has paintings in several museums, was appointed an instructor in Fine Arts at Georgetown University in 1967, and is listed in Find a Grave. She passed away in 1985 (aged 65) and has a plaque in Silver Spring MD. . A Warren Harvey Caryl, also born in 1920, was a paperback writer, who also wrote as Peter Tadrack. |
