Cover for Good Housekeeping, October 1928. . Jesse Wilcox Smith specialized in childhood portraits. She illustrated every cover of Good Housekeeping from 1918 to 1933 with images of children. One writer explained her popularity by noting that her young subjects "don't look noisy... are unusually wholesome... and seem only sufficiently naughty to be entertaining. |
