Sculpture and the Environment Professor Steve Rossi, Art and Art History Department Collaborative Student team: Cameron, Victoria, (illegible), Jessica.
Utilizing wood working skills and three-dimensional design principles, students in the Sculpture and the Environment class worked collaboratively to design and build creative solutions for seating on the arboretum grounds. Assigned to a specific area, each team focused on their location's physical characteristics along with the traffic flow of park visitors and wildlife. These site-specific considerations provided a starting point for students to explore how their project would complement and/or contrast the natural visual elements nearby.
