195 McCorison Lane When Butch and I were married in 1989 he already had a vegetable garden. I started adding flowers, and ever since we've gardened together. I do most of the planting and weeding, and Butch does anything that involves carpentry, removes the weeds that I've pulled, and does all the watering. It's a joint effort. In recent years we've added more flowers, both perennials and annuals, with priority given to plants that the bees and butterflies like such as zinnias and salvia. The garden doesn't have a plan - it's different every year. Each spring I get a bunch of seeds and plants - whatever moves me at the time. Last year Butch built the arbors and benches. He placed them at the north and south ends of the garden so that there's always one in the shade for when it's time to take a gardening break. The cup and saucer vine growing on the arbors has done very well. Sharon McCorison |
