Mom had a hard time getting the pachysandra to grow, but it eventually took over. She also planted variegated bishop's weed, light green and white leaves, which came from the Perry summer place in Weare NH. . Dad used to tell us bedtime stories about Poody & Doony. One of them inspired us to try to dig a cave in the back yard. We sure learned how hard it was to dig. This might have been the hole - certainly we got no deeper - but this may have been Dad's compost hole, and ours may have been later. In 1957, Dad built the essentials of the the tree house for us - surely no caves after that.
