In Rodin's imagination, lust turned individuals into beasts, a manifestation visible in the hairy hooves and haunches of the minotaur, a half-human creature from Greek mythology. In contrast to "The Kiss" (on view in the main gallery), these figures face outward and embody both revulsion and attraction in their struggle against each other. |
